Description

Did you know that behind every successful man, there is a strong, wise and hardworking woman? Sir Isaac Newton is not an exception. His beautiful wife Hannah Ayscough supported all his endeavors. The legend says that she had an ancient recipe of a wonderful fresh apple pie which was Newton’s second passion after science. The first and last steps in the recipe were a meditation, and salient conversation with Mother Nature. However, one day, when Hannah was meditating, a cold rain began to fall, and Hannah was forced to return home without apples. After dinner, the weather was warm, and Isaac and Hannah went into the garden and drank tea under the shade of that apple tree. Ten minutes later an apple fell on Isaac’s head and, in a stroke of brilliant insight, he suddenly discovered his theory of gravity.

This is a contemporary 2-panel symbolist painting that reveals the first moment of this story. The top panel can be hanged at an angle to the bottom panel. This creates a tree shade under which everything has happened. Under the sunlight or normal room illumination, a beautiful reflection of enamels and resins blend attracts an attention creating a unique visual effect.
